Tips for enjoying the festival sustainably

Everything we do has a carbon footprint but by taking mindful choices we can significantly lower our emissions and be sustainable festival goers.

How you travel to the festival matters

If you live near the event you are taking part in we warmly recommend walking, cycling or wheeling to the event. Not only is active travel the most sustainable way to travel from A to B it also has lots of benefits to our mental and physical health.

Unfortunately, not all roads are particularly active travel friendly. If you are planning on cycling or wheeling to the event we recommend using a cycling app to plan your route. A couple of options include Cyclestreets.org, komoot, Mapy.cz and Bikemap.

For events outside your neighbourhood, we recommend using public transport or community transport to visit the event. On our website you can find more information about the organisations offering community transport.

Avoid waste

If you are likely to throw out a leaflet right after the event, consider taking a photo of the key information instead.

We know it can be tempting to grab something simply because it’s free. However, before snatching a freebie please consider if you will actually use it. If the answer is no, it’s not really a steal but just something to clutter your home!

Where possible bring your own cup and crockery for events where food and drinks are served to avoid using single use products.
