Circularity events aim to reduce waste by encouraging reuse and repair. Examples include repair cafes, clothes or book swaps, and upcycling workshops.

What are examples of Community Engagement events?

Community engagement events include community cinema screenings, art exhibitions, public talks, and group discussions focused on climate issues.

What kind of Energy-related events can I host?

Energy events may include visits to energy-efficient homes, workshops on reducing heat loss, or information sessions about renewable energy.

What are some Food & Nature event ideas?

Food and Nature events include seed planting, community harvesting, cooking with seasonal ingredients, creating rain gardens, and local litter picks.

Can I submit an event idea that doesn’t fit these categories?

Event Inspiration - Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival 2025

Hosting an event as part of Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival is easier than you might think!

You can either set up a bespoke event for the festival or adapt an event you were already planning on hosting during the two weeks of the festival. We only ask that the event aims to either start local climate conversations and/or raise interest in climate action.

We find most events fall under one of the following categories:

Energy events look at how we can create better and more sustainable homes.

Community Engagement

Community engagement events are focused on starting climate conversations in the community.

Circularity

Circular events are all about reducing waste and ensuring fewer resources end in landfill.

Food & Nature

Food and Nature events are all about getting hands on with sustainable food growing and supporting nature to thrive.

Travel

Travel events are designed to give people the skills, confidence or inspiration to enjoy active travel.
