Host an event

Who can host an event?

We welcome community groups and organisations as well as local businesses to host events as part of Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival. The event must take place within North Lanarkshire or South Lanarkshire and during the festival 7-20 September 2026.

  • Who can access funding?

    Eligible organisations who can apply are any local community group or organisation based in, and working in, Lanarkshire. Applications will only be accepted from non-profit-distributing groups and organisations with bank accounts. If you are from a school or learning institution, we would advise working with a community group on your proposal to maximise the impact in your community.

  • What type of events can you host?

    The types of events you may host is incredibly flexible. You can either set up a bespoke event for the festival or adapt an event you were already planning on hosting during the two weeks of the festival. We only ask that the event aims to either start local climate conversations and/or raise interest in climate action. You can find more inspiration on what types of events you could host HERE

Benefits of hosting an event

If you’re a community group, organisation, or business keen to protect the environment and connect with your local community, we strongly encourage you to host an event as part of Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival.

Taking part in the festival shows your commitment to local climate action, connects you with your local community in a meaningful way and helps raise awareness of your organisation and its goals.

You can either set up a bespoke event for the festival or adapt an event you were already planning on hosting during the two weeks of the festival. We only ask that the event aims to either start local climate conversations and/or raise interest in climate action.

We offer funding to community groups and organisations for putting on an event. You can find more details about the funding here.
