Secure funding for your festival event!

A Climate Festival Grant is available to deliver an event during Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival 2026. The festival takes place across Lanarkshire from 7-20 September 2026. In previous years, festival events have included mend and repair workshops, led cycle rides, harvest celebrations, climate-themed movie screenings, and lots more! 

What is a Climate Festival Grant? 

It is a small grant of up to £250 available to community groups and organisations in Lanarkshire to host events or activities during the festival fortnight.  

What type of event could the funding support? 

One of the best things about a climate action festival is that you can find any type of event. To keep things simple, we have five themes which festival events generally fall into:

♻️ Circularity 

🐝 Food & Nature 

🚲 Travel 

💬 Community Engagement 

The type of event or activity that the grant is used for is entirely up to you – the only requirement is that it starts local climate conversations and/or raises interest in climate action in your community.

What can the funding be used for? 

The fund should be used for the costs of materials and expenses to deliver your event or activity.  

Who can apply? 

Eligible organisations are any local community group or organisation based in, and working in, Lanarkshire.

Groups must be non-profit distributing groups and organisations with a bank account.  

If you are a school or learning institution, we would advise working with a community group on your proposal to maximise the impact in your community.  

When should you apply? 

Applications open in April 2026 and close on 31 May 2026. Don’t delay!

Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis until the closing date.
